Judie Gumm, writer

Judie is a local silversmith whose work incorporates imagery from Alaska plants and animals. She and her husband Richard operate a small gallery/workshop near their house in the village. Judie also has a green thumb: she is one of the very few people in Alaska the publisher knows who can actually get artichokes to grow to full bud size. Judie wrote a regular column about gemstones for the first year of the Republic's publication, and was profiled by Terry Glendinning for the paper in her art column. You can find out more about her work on her website, www.judiegumm.com.
