Neil Davis A UAF emeritus professor of geophysics, Neil Davis has several fiction and nonfiction works published by the University of Alaska Press and McRoy & Blackburn Publishers. In 1976 he began in the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner a column now known as the Alaska Science Forum and was its main writer for more than five years. His works include The Aurora Watcher’s Handbook, Caught in the Sluice, Alaska Science Nuggets, Energy/Alaska, Battling Against Success, The College Hill Chronicles, Permafrost, a guide to frozen ground in transition, and Rockets Over Alaska. Mired in the Health Care Morass, his newest book, is about the US health care situation and how to fix it. He writes Dose of Reality, a column about health care and insurance, for The Ester Republic.
